A little more…
Children Missing in Education are often invisible in the system - slipping through cracks created by rigid structures, unaddressed learning needs, trauma, mental health struggles, or a lack of neuro-inclusive environments. Schools, already stretched for resources, may not always have the capacity, tools or specialist knowledge to identify the root causes or to safely and sustainably reintegrate these pupils.
Spectrum understands that behind every child missing in education is a story of unmet need. Our service steps in with a trauma-informed, neuro-friendly lens - working alongside school leaders, SENCOs, and families to assess barriers, build trust, and map a path back to education that centres the child.
-
Spectrum acts as a compassionate, skilled bridge between families and schools - helping both parties navigate challenges, rebuild relationships, and co-create a supportive, sustainable return to learning.
-
We work closely with schools and families to develop individualised reintegration pathways that focus on the child’s strengths, rebuild trust, and foster a sense of safety and belonging in education spaces.
-
Many children missing in education are neurodivergent and have struggled in environments that didn’t meet their needs. Spectrum’s neurodiversity-first approach allows us to understand the underlying reasons behind disengagement and offer targeted, meaningful solutions.
